Only 2% of K–12 teachers in the U.S. are Asian American, and I’ve been privileged to be one of them.
However, during my time in the classroom, I’ve witnessed the glaring invisibility of Asian American history and narratives—particularly at the elementary level. This absence isn’t just a gap; it’s a missed opportunity to cultivate empathy, foster understanding, and create a more inclusive future for all students.
Through this blog, I aim to spark meaningful conversations, inspire curiosity, and drive actionable change. More importantly, I want this space to be a resource—a place where educators, parents, and advocates can find strategies, insights, and tools to bring Asian American stories to life in classrooms and communities.
Whether you’re an educator seeking curriculum ideas, a parent looking to diversify your child’s learning experience, or simply someone who values equity and representation, this space is for you. Together, we can amplify Asian American voices and ensure they have the place they deserve in the fabric of our shared history.
